洋楽を使って英語学習をしようというコンセプトで、私が好きな洋楽と、その曲中に出てくる単語、表現などを紹介していきます。
最初に一通り和訳した後に、解説が書かれているので、和訳だけが必要なんだよ！という人はそちらをご覧ください。
また、洋楽ではよくある事ですが、サイトによって掲載している歌詞が違い、正しい歌詞がわかりにくい曲が存在し、この「For A Better Day」もサイトによって歌詞が違います。

この曲を作ったAviciiはこの曲のミュージックビデオを作った意図を次のように語っています。
「より良き生活という甘い言葉で吊って、この世で最もひどい奴らが家族や子どもたちを騙してしまう。もっと声を大にして討論しはじめるべき問題だと僕は思う。とりわけ今は、戦争で荒廃した国々の多くの家族が、身の安全と避難場所を求めて移住しているわけだから」
歌詞もそのまんまですね。
つまり、pretty thing（ひどい奴ら）が、ひどい空の下に驚くべき風を作る（貧困で苦しんでいる人などに、甘い言葉を囁く）。
そして、その甘い言葉を言い換えた言葉が、のちに出て来るmagic callですね。
でもこの甘い誘惑は、君がくれる楽しみを無くしていった・・・つまり、主人公と「君」とを引き離してしまったということでしょう。
おそらく、主人公と離れ離れになった「君」は甘い誘惑に乗り、人身売買されたのでしょうね。

↑この部分がちゃんと読めれば、「より良き日々がやって来た！」なんて前向きな訳にはならないと思います。
